Tom Hobleman's article on Wyoming was right on point. The Front Range, and Colorado as a whole, must take a regional perspective to economic development, and specifically economic development through its greatest contributor - entrepreneurship. Creating an "entrepreneurial eco-system" requires a certain level of concentration of technology and technology resources, combined with both human and financial capital. It is to the benefit of all of us to view ourselves regionally, concentrate our resources regionally, and work collaboratively. As the center of commerce in the region, any such development and collaboration, will not only elevate the region, but elevate Colorado as much or more. At CTEK we look forward to working closely with our neighbors to the north, and the south, in pursuit of our common goals. Gary S. Held President, CTEK Venture Centers Denver When are you going monthly? I like that you feature so many different companies, including a few start ups. I use the magazine as a good reference and I'd like to see more. My favorite article the last issue was on Wyoming and Colorado's collaboration, viewing that area as a "corridor". Our company is in Fort Collins and unless you live and work this way, you don't realize just how close Wyoming is as a neighbor. A great deal of business is done between companies across the border. I am certainly appreciative that you can view that as important. Which is to point out that you are probably just as interested in profiling Colorado Springs -although it is about the same distance to Denver as Fort Collins is to Cheyenne -oftentimes many thriving cities are overlooked and not given the same attention as say Denver. Congratulations on recognizing Colorado as a state and its neighboring states as valuable. Josh Marquez Fort Collins You comments in vol. 4 no.1, Publisher's Letter are straight to the point on the challenges of being an entrepreneur. I see people deal with these diverse issues everyday here at the Incubator. Your positive spirit in response to the instances you related, indicate you are a true entrepreneur. Keep it up. Good luck. Pat Duran Executive Director Denver Enterprise Center Take me off your promo list. I've read the magazine and cannot understand its place. Yes, I'm a business owner, but I get my information off the web and national news papers. (Name Withheld) Editor's Note: In an effort to bring the best content and relevant information to our readers, we certainly entertain any and all criticisms! Colorado has a definite need for a publication that promotes entrepreneurship and business information across the board -and we'd like to think we are doing just that! I appreciated your story on Eric Tack. As a client, his work is outstanding! And as a man, I definitely know the value of having somebody else pick out my wardrobe and ensure I don't look like a heap in a pile of clothes. I am disappointed that you gave him the exposure though, I prefer having my "best kept secrets" to myself and a few choice friends whom I know need the help! Good job on digging for interesting stories! "Well known and fantastically dressed executive" Denver Awesome story on Pierre Lacroix! You would think there would be more press coverage with the celebration of their 10 years of success in Colorado! You aren't turning sports on us? Two covers with two well known sports figures. No problem if you do - Colorado is applauded for its sports teams and its attractiveness as a state for its indoor and outdoor activities! Ben Martin Elias Corporation Boulder |
